Who we are
The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Technologies within the "King Michael I" University of Life Sciences in Timișoara is a modern academic structure, built upon the foundation of a tradition spanning over three decades in training specialists in key fields for the sustainable future of society: horticulture, forestry, biotechnologies, and applied laboratory sciences.
Established in 1990 under the initial name of the Faculty of Horticulture, the institution has evolved constantly, responding both to the needs of the regional economic environment and to international challenges in the field of applied sciences. Since 2007, the faculty has operated under its current title, reflecting the diversification of its fields of study and the expansion of its academic and research scope.


The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Technologies within the "King Michael I" University of Life Sciences in Timișoara is a modern academic structure, built upon the foundation of a tradition spanning over three decades in training specialists in key fields for the sustainable future of society: horticulture, forestry, biotechnologies, and applied laboratory sciences.

Students benefit from access to modern laboratories, state-of-the-art equipment, and an active network of partners—companies, research institutions, and international organizations—that support internships and applied projects. The faculty places a special emphasis on interdisciplinarity, constantly adapting its curriculum to the evolution of the job market and international trends.

Research activity is conducted in collaboration with institutes and universities in Romania and abroad, addressing current topics such as the sustainability of agricultural and forestry systems, biodiversity protection, genetic improvement of horticultural species, natural resource conservation, and the use of advanced technologies in analysis and diagnostic laboratories.


The academic staff consists of teachers and researchers recognized at both national and international levels, who are involved in large-scale scientific and educational projects. Research activity is conducted in collaboration with institutes and universities in Romania and abroad, addressing current topics such as the sustainability of agricultural and forestry systems, biodiversity protection, genetic improvement of horticultural species, natural resource conservation, and the use of advanced technologies in analysis and diagnostic laboratories.
