Who we are

History

The Faculty of Bioengineering of Animal Resources within the University of Life Sciences "King Mihai I" of Timișoara stands out for its solid tradition, as well as for its future-oriented vision. Initially established in 1948 in Arad, under the name of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, it was transferred to Timișoara in 1955, and over the decades it has continuously developed, responding to the changing needs of society and the labor market.

History

Since 1992, with the introduction of the "Agricultural Biotechnologies" program, the faculty has become a benchmark in higher education in the field, gradually expanding its portfolio of specializations. Over time, innovative programs such as "Aquaculture and Fisheries," "Entrepreneurship in Food Production," and "Biotechnologies" (in Romanian and English) have been established, which naturally led to the name change in 2018 to "Faculty of Bioengineering of Animal Resources," more accurately reflecting the current profile of the institution.
